Description: In the community of Reyixtla, Ixhuatlán de Madero, Veracruz, Celerino Hernández Pascuala and his family continue to preserve traditional Nahua sones, as well as the costumbre known as elotlamanilistli, performed to venerate Chikomexochitl (the spirit and creator of maize). This practice is a fundamental element within the worldview of the Nahua peoples of this region.
